Indonesian integrated telecoms and data service provider Indosat has partnered with Dimension Data to jointly offer an end-to-end portfolio of cloud computing services.
"The partnership with Dimension Data Indonesia heralds a new era for Indosat with its foray into cloud business. This will enrich our advanced services portfolio, and enables us to help large Indonesian enterprises and Small Enterprise Businesses (SMB) embark onto the cloud journey," said Fadzri Sentosa, Chief Wholesale & Infrastructure, PT Indosat Tbk.
The collaboration combines Indosat's nationwide connectivity backbone infrastructure and its ten data center facilities with Dimension Data's cloud consultancy services.
The solution is the first comprehensive suite of cloud computing services in Indonesia, according to Sentosa. Both companies will jointly run the offered services for an initial period of five years, with Indosat taking responsibility for sales, client management, and the data center and network operations, while Dimension Data will be responsible for managing the 'onecloud' services portfolio and operation, IT architecture, the cloud platform and maintaining their IT infrastructure.
Dimension Data is also providing and managing cloud services for BSNL in India, PLDT in the Philippines and Hutchison Global Communications in Hong Kong, Indosat was confident in Dimension Data's ability to implement the onecloud framework and has entrusted the entire infrastructure implementation to the company.
"We welcome this opportunity to prove our technical and business capabilities in cloud enablement and management, working alongside one of Indonesia's most well-established telecom and data services companies will enable both Indosat and its clients to accelerate their journey towards cloud computing," said Bambang Patrap Yakin, President Director, Dimension Data Indonesia.
